Well, yeah, you caught me. I'm trying to be a better person, and in pursuit of this, posting five positives about my day or things in which I find pride.I'll try to be good about using cuts )

I've spent more than two decades saying to my friends on both sides of the aisle, "Please respect the office, the system that got him in, and the citizens who voted for him, no matter what you think of the man," regarding the President of the United States. (I wonder if I'll ever get the chance to stop? The Presidency has often seemed like Robin's brightly-colored uniform, calculated to draw enemy fire and allowing the dark-clad to do their work.)

I really, really don't agree with our current fellow's politics, but I think it is brave and authentic of him to be obviously himself on Twitter, and say whatever the hell he wants without apparent vetting of any sort whatsoever. (I worry about it, and I kind of suspect that this may be another cynical step in making him appear "authentic," but... I don't have enough data, and it's not my place or goal to gather that data. I care more about effects than motive.) True, the office is important, especially because of its visibility and the fact that it is largely a PR gig, and I can see people being frustrated when he's so Teflon-coated on things that seem pretty huge and obvious as issues, and maybe wanting to find any chink in that armor that would work to bring down what they see as a literal threat to the existence of humanity. Maybe, just maybe, though, it's kind of nice to get a real window? Official social media so often feels like you don't see the 900 rejected selfies...

To me those who make fun of Mr. Trump for hitting "publish" on a nonsense word look petty.

But... Mr. Trump, when you have a loser like me being supportive, maybe it's time to go home and rethink your life.
